How long have you been bowling?
Hi Everyone. I was tickled to read about bowlspace in the latest USBC magazine and couldn't wait to join up. This is my third year of bowling in a league. So far I've only bowled in mixed leagues with my hubby. I have bowled in city and state tournaments with just women though, and I really liked it. I think next year I'll look for a women's league to join as well.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
Hi I'm in my 29th year of bowling leagues. I bowl 3 house mixed handicap leagues, 1 scratch sport league (4 women and 39 men), and 1 scratch PBA Experience league (3 women and 17 men). I have bowled both open and women's city and state over the years and also Nationals, womens and open. They are all a lot of fun, especially bowing at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
I have bowled since i was 14. I took at 4 year break from 2001 to this last August 2006. I thought i would bowl like crap since I had only bowled occasionally, like 4 times in 4 years.
but i came back and had a starting average of 140. I have maintained it so far.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
I was a fun bowler for a long time. My dad bowled at least 6 nights a week, my mom use to bowl, my stepmother still bowls. So it really runs in the family.
I didn't start bowling in leagues until I finished school and I had time to do it...that was in 2003. I went from a 104 avg to now a 151 avg - depending on what house I'm bowling in.
I'd love to have a 225 avg. I'm on my way!

I bowl on Thursay nights. We have not bowled the last 2 weeks because of weather. We will make them up at the end of season.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
Let's see... I started bowling seriously at age 18... I'm 34 now... so that makes it, ummmm, 16 years. Yikes! I blame my dad for getting me hooked on bowling... he was a semi-pro back in the day and he taught me pretty much everything I know. I started out throwing a back-up ball and eventually progressed to whole fingertip-grip hooking thing (with the big nasty wrist brace and everything). I'm up to about a 170-175 average right now on a regular house shot... somewhat lower on the PBA-style oil patterns my current league uses. :-P
I met my husband through a bowling league in college. So I bowl, my dad bowls, my husband bowls, and my 2-year-old son is already showing great promise as a bowler (I am amazed by how straight he can roll the ball). He's got the bowling genes. :-)
Oddly enough, both my mom and my brother hate bowling. They're weird that way.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
Hey all, I started bowling in jr. leagues with my little brother around 14. That makes it 9 years now. God, that sounds long. My dad got us both into it, my mom bowls, but only for fun and both of my grandparents did as well,so it's in my blood. ^_^ I started with a straight ball and averaged around 120, now I know how to throw a hook and average around 180.

Re: How long have you been bowling?
Hi All!! I've had been bowling right handed for 8 years, and I finally got my average up to 206! Then due to any injury I had to switch to a lefty this season. I now have my average up to 140-150 and hope to finish this season at about 170. I just love to bowl and beat the boys so I'll get my average back up there!
Good luck to all of you!

Re: How long have you been bowling?
Hi ladies! I just learned of this site in the last USBC magazine. I think this was a great idea. My space is out there but this is a place for just bowlers. I love to bowl and try my best to keep up on everything. This season isn't quite so hot. I'm averaging a 164. My dad is a bowler and he started a kids league just to get me bowling. I was 5 years old when he started me and 11 when he started the Soda Pops League. I am so happy and appreciate that my dad did that for me. Now it is something my dad and I share together. k
I guess if you start from the time my dad first started me that means I started bowling 20 years ago. If you go by my first time starting leagues then it was 14 years ago.

I have been bowling since I could walk...no lie. I love bowling. I bowl a lot expecially here lately. I got my Fiancee real into it, so he's always like " lets go bowl."
